- Prototype and communicate ideas quickly to drive alignment and accelerate decision making.
- Use research, experimentation, and data to continuously improve the rider experience.

Which companies sponsor visas for UX designers in Washington?
Microsoft and Amazon are the most active sponsors for UX designer roles in Washington, with consistent H-1B visa filings across product design, user research, and interaction design positions. Boeing sponsors UX talent for aerospace and defense software teams. Mid-size Seattle-based firms in cloud infrastructure, health tech, and e-commerce, including Expedia Group and Zillow, also have established sponsorship track records for design roles.
Which visa types are most common for UX designer roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for UX designers in Washington, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as design, human-computer interaction, or computer science. Australian nationals sometimes pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is faster to process. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension can also work for sponsoring employers while their H-1B petition is filed.
Which cities in Washington have the most UX designer sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Redmond together account for the overwhelming majority of UX designer sponsorship activity in Washington. Seattle is home to Amazon headquarters, numerous startups, and several major tech offices. Redmond is Microsoft's global headquarters and one of the highest-density UX hiring locations in the country. Bellevue, directly east of Seattle, has grown significantly as Amazon and other firms expanded there, adding more UX roles with sponsorship potential.
How to find ux designer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find UX designer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington, with listings filtered specifically by role and state so you're not sorting through jobs posted by employers who don't sponsor. Focus your search on product companies based in Seattle, Redmond, and Bellevue, where design teams are large enough to have dedicated immigration support. Filtering by employers with a prior H-1B filing history helps identify companies with active sponsorship programs.
Are there any state-specific considerations for UX designers seeking sponsorship in Washington?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects the real value of compensation packages but does not change federal visa requirements. The Seattle tech market moves quickly, and many employers expect portfolio-based interviews, so having a strong case study presentation is important for clearing hiring processes at sponsoring companies. Washington's proximity to major university programs, including the University of Washington's nationally ranked HCI program, means local employer pipelines are well-established for design talent.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ux designer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
