Which companies sponsor visas for maintenance electricians in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin manufacturers with documented H-1B visa and EB-3 sponsorship histories include Quad/Graphics, Kohler Co., Rockwell Automation, and Bemis Company. Food and beverage processors like Kraft Heinz and Land O'Lakes also maintain facilities with ongoing maintenance electrician needs. Larger operations in Milwaukee and the Fox Valley corridor tend to have established HR processes for sponsoring skilled trades workers.
Which visa types are most common for maintenance electrician roles in Wisconsin?
Maintenance electrician positions in Wisconsin most commonly lead to EB-3 sponsorship, which covers skilled workers in roles requiring at least two years of training or experience. Some employers also use the H-2B visa for temporary or seasonal maintenance needs. Candidates with a four-year electrical engineering degree may qualify for H-1B consideration, though most hands-on trades roles are processed through the EB-3 pathway with PERM labor certification.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most maintenance electrician sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee has the highest concentration of sponsoring employers, driven by its industrial manufacturing base and proximity to major corporate headquarters. Appleton and Green Bay in the Fox Valley region are also active, particularly in paper, packaging, and food processing facilities. Racine and Kenosha, bordering Illinois, attract employers with multi-state operations who hire maintenance electricians across both states.
How to find maintenance electrician visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, including maintenance electrician positions in Wisconsin. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search directly for Wisconsin-based industrial employers actively hiring international candidates. Migrate Mate also provides context on which employers have sponsored similar roles historically, making your search more targeted.
What should international maintenance electricians know before applying to Wisconsin employers?
Wisconsin requires a state-issued Master or Journeyman Electrician license for most maintenance electrician work, and international candidates typically need to demonstrate equivalent training and pass state licensing exams. Employers sponsoring EB-3 visas must complete PERM labor certification, which documents that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Candidates with documented industrial electrical experience and verifiable credentials from their home country are generally better positioned for sponsorship consideration.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored maintenance electrician jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
