Which companies sponsor visas for pharmacy interns in Wisconsin?
The most active sponsors for pharmacy intern roles in Wisconsin tend to be large health systems and hospital networks, including Froedtert Health, UW Health, and Advocate Aurora Health. Major retail pharmacy chains operating across the state also sponsor intern positions. Sponsorship is more common at organizations with established HR infrastructure and prior H-1B or OPT-related hiring history.
Which visa types are most common for pharmacy intern roles in Wisconsin?
Most international pharmacy interns in Wisconsin work under F-1 OPT or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) tied to their pharmacy program enrollment. Employers may also sponsor H-1B visas for candidates who have completed their PharmD and are transitioning to full licensure. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican citizens working in qualifying pharmacy roles under USMCA.
How to find pharmacy intern visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters pharmacy intern roles specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find Wisconsin-based positions where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Rather than sorting through general listings, you can browse roles at Wisconsin health systems and pharmacy chains that have a documented history of supporting international candidates, saving significant time in your job search.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most pharmacy intern sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, given its concentration of hospital networks, specialty pharmacies, and Froedtert Health. Madison follows closely, driven by UW Health and the proximity to the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. Green Bay and Appleton also have openings tied to regional health systems. Smaller cities occasionally post intern roles through independent hospital pharmacies and federally qualified health centers.
Are there state-specific considerations for pharmacy interns seeking visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin requires pharmacy interns to hold an active intern registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board, and international candidates must ensure their licensure status aligns with their visa authorization period. Programs at UW-Madison and Concordia University Wisconsin produce a steady pipeline of PharmD candidates, which means intern positions at affiliated institutions are relatively familiar with OPT and CPT documentation requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored pharmacy intern jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
