Job Description:
McDaniel College invites a thoughtful, collaborative academic leader to serve as its next Provost – someone who takes pride in steady execution of strategic initiatives, clear communication, and strong relationships. One of the original "Colleges That Change Lives," McDaniel is a nationally recognized four-year, independent college, known for its student-centered community, its strength in the liberal arts and sciences, and flourishing graduate programs. Founded in 1867 as one of the first coeducational colleges in the nation and the first south of the Mason-Dixon Line, the college's 160-acre campus sits atop a hill overlooking downtown Westminster, Maryland, which is Carroll County's largest town and county seat, a short drive to the Appalachian Trail and proximate to both Baltimore and Washington. McDaniel also operates a campus in Budapest, Hungary for short-term study for its students and those enrolled from a variety of countries.
McDaniel has defied national enrollment trends by securing the largest first-year classes in its history for five of the past seven years and maintaining strong graduate enrollment despite competitive market pressures. The institutional tuition discount rate has also decreased over the last three years. Together, these indicators underscore McDaniel's financial strength and operational discipline.
The next provost will partner closely with dedicated faculty and staff to strengthen teaching and learning, guide new and evolving programs, and further embed experiential learning throughout the student experience. The provost will oversee McDaniel's 70 undergraduate programs of study (including 38 majors), 19 graduate degrees, certificates, and other shorter-term programming, as well as supporting the College as it evolves to meet workforce demands and serve McDaniel's community and region. The provost will also provide thoughtful, collaborative leadership for McDaniel's inaugural School of Business and Technology and its added emphasis on computational innovation.

What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Provost jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
