Job Summary
Why Geisinger: Geisinger is operationalizing AI at scale across one of the nation's most integrated health systems, moving beyond pilots and proof of concepts to build capabilities that change how care is delivered and how operations run. This role works across clinical, operational, health plan, and pharmacy functions alongside AI product development and organizational leadership to identify and advance the AI opportunities that matter most. This role is where AI strategy becomes reality. You will own the product vision and delivery roadmap for a portfolio of clinical and operational AI initiatives, working across one of the most integrated health systems in the country to build solutions that change how care is delivered and how the organization runs. Position Summary: This is a role for someone who wants to lead AI product work that actually matters. You will define and drive the roadmap for AI initiatives across clinical, operational, health plan, and pharmacy domains, taking ideas from discovery through validation, deployment, and scale. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, clinicians, and operational leaders to build AI solutions that are clinically sound, operationally viable, and genuinely adopted. This is not a role for someone who wants to manage a backlog. It is a role for someone who wants to own outcomes.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Senior AI Product Manager
Target AI-native companies first
Companies building core AI products, not just integrating AI features, file LCAs for Senior AI PMs at far higher rates. These employers have established sponsorship pipelines and legal teams already set up to process H-1B petitions efficiently.
Frame your degree as qualifying
USCIS requires a specific bachelor's degree for specialty occupation approval. Computer science, engineering, and information systems degrees align well. If your degree is in a different field, document how your coursework directly supports AI product work.
Emphasize quantifiable AI outcomes
Sponsoring employers face USCIS scrutiny on specialty occupation. Demonstrating measurable outcomes, like model accuracy improvements or revenue attributed to AI features you shipped, strengthens both your candidacy and the employer's petition documentation.
Understand the H-1B lottery timing
H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If you're interviewing in late spring or summer, your start date will likely be October of the following year unless you're already in H-1B status or qualify for cap-exempt roles.
Ask about O-1A eligibility early
Senior AI PMs with published research, conference speaking credits, or documented industry recognition may qualify for an O-1A visa. Unlike H-1B, there's no lottery and no annual cap, making it a faster path for candidates who meet the criteria.
Check employer LCA history before applying
The Department of Labor publishes certified LCA filings, showing which companies have sponsored similar roles before. Applying to employers with a track record of sponsoring product management positions significantly improves your chances of receiving an offer that includes sponsorship.

Find Senior AI Product Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Do Senior AI Product Manager roles qualify as specialty occupations for H-1B purposes?
Most do, but it depends on how the employer defines the role. USCIS requires that a bachelor's degree in a specific field, typically computer science, engineering, or a closely related discipline, be a minimum requirement for the position. Senior AI PM roles that require deep technical knowledge of machine learning systems generally qualify. Roles written as general product management positions with AI as a secondary focus can face more scrutiny during adjudication.
Which visa types do employers typically sponsor for Senior AI Product Managers?
H-1B is the most common path. Employers may also consider the O-1A for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary ability in AI, such as published research, patents, or significant industry recognition. Australians should ask about E-3 eligibility, which has no annual lottery. TN status is available to Canadians and Mexicans whose roles qualify under the USMCA professional categories. Browse open roles on Migrate Mate to filter by visa type and sponsorship availability.
Does a non-technical degree hurt my chances of H-1B approval as an AI PM?
It can complicate the petition. USCIS evaluates whether your specific degree, not just any bachelor's degree, is required for the role. If your degree is in business, economics, or a non-technical field, your employer's attorney will need to argue that your education combined with your work experience satisfies the specialty occupation standard. Strong AI domain experience and coursework in data science or statistics can support that argument, but approval is less certain than it is for engineering or computer science graduates.
What approval rates should I expect for H-1B petitions in product management roles?
USCIS approval rates for product management roles have historically ranged from the low 80s to mid 90s percentage-wise, depending on how the role is framed and which employer files the petition. Roles with vague job descriptions or degree requirements that lack specificity draw higher rates of Requests for Evidence. Senior-level AI PM roles at established tech companies with experienced immigration counsel tend to see stronger approval outcomes than early-stage startup filings.
Can I switch employers mid-H-1B as a Senior AI Product Manager?
Yes. H-1B portability allows you to start working for a new employer as soon as they file an H-1B transfer petition on your behalf, without waiting for approval, as long as your prior H-1B was approved and you haven't been out of status. The new employer files a new I-129 petition describing the AI PM role in terms that satisfy specialty occupation requirements. Your prior approval does not automatically carry over, so the role description matters for each new petition.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Senior AI Product Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
