Because so much hiring in the District is tied to federal contracting, candidates who have held Director or Senior Director-level AI roles within government consulting firms, defense agencies, or large systems integrators are strongly positioned. A security clearance, even at the Secret level, meaningfully expands the pool of roles available in this market.
