We are seeking a Senior Water Treatment Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal drinking water treatment plants and other water treatment projects. In this role, you will serve as a technical expert in process and facility design as a key member of our broader water resources engineering team. Your work will have a direct impact on the safety, reliability, efficiency, and long-term resilience of critical water infrastructure. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a technical expert and lead the planning, process selection, and detailed design for water treatment plant projects
- Provide technical oversight and mentoring to project managers and engineers, ensuring sound engineering judgment, regulatory compliance, and consistency with firm standards
- Support projects across the broader Water Resources team, integrating treatment facility expertise with conveyance, storage, pumping, and utility infrastructure projects
- Prepare project documents and designs, conduct analyses, interpret data, and plan and coordinate specific aspects of water treatment engineering work
- Perform QA/QC on project deliverables, ensuring the technical accuracy and constructability of water treatment plant designs and documentation
- Oversee project teams, ensuring alignment with technical standards, project schedules, and organizational goals
- Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning for water/wastewater services and assist with business development efforts including client engagement and proposal development
- Prepare proposals and/or funding applications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Extensive and progressive experience in water treatment facility design
- Experience designing water treatment facilities in Texas is needed
- Proven success in managing large and/or complex water treatment facility design projects
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for design, project management, and analysis
- Excellent communication and client management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Valid Driver's License
