The Service Writer performs a performs a variety of moderately complex-to-complex customer service functions serving as liaison and initial point of contact to end users and shop technicians to facilitate successful resolution of repair issues. The Service Writer is a detail oriented multitasking automotive professional with highly developed communication and people skills, and above average aptitude for functional and situational reasoning.
This opportunity is for the 2nd shift, M-F, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.
In this role, you will:
- Greet customers and vendors entering the maintenance facility. The Service Writer accepts vehicle service requests, identifies customer concerns and expectations, documents service requirements and accepts and relinquishes ownership and responsibility of units delivered to and released from the repair center within established procedures, policies and guidelines. The Service Writer receives and dispatches questions, service concerns and inquiries in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
- Receive, verify and accept materials and repair parts delivered from vendors; issues materials from stock; organize, secure and control site inventories and material returns in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Document service and material functions in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. The Service Writer is responsible for data integrity and timely transfer to the responsible individual or office.
- Monitor workload and communicate changing priorities or other workload related concerns to the appropriate party in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years experience as an automotive dealership service writer, parts counter person, automotive technician or combination of education and practical experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must read, write, speak and understand English with exceptional analytical, communication and human interaction skills.
- Superior writing and data entry skills typing 30-40 wpm with high-level proficiency.
- ASE or other industry recognized certifications may be required.
- This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal history check and drug screen.
