Entry Level Accounting Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level accounting specialist job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for candidates with foundational coursework in accounting principles, familiarity with spreadsheet tools like Excel, and any hands-on experience from internships, work-study, or volunteer bookkeeping. A transcript showing relevant coursework, a clean resume that highlights data entry or reconciliation tasks, and a cover letter that connects your education to the role's duties will give you a real edge over candidates who apply without that context.
Which companies hire entry level accounting specialists?
Companies hiring entry level accounting specialists right now include Farm Credit Services of America, VIVA, and Arhaus, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. At this level, you'll find openings across a range of employers, from regional firms and healthcare organizations to large corporations that run structured onboarding programs for new accounting hires.
Are there remote entry level accounting specialist jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still make up the majority at this experience level. About 11% of entry level accounting specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, so filtering by work setting when you search is a practical first step if location flexibility matters to you.
Are these new grad accounting specialist jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior accounting specialist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or practicum work toward requirements, or accepts a portfolio of coursework in place of full-time history. If the job description lists a degree as the primary qualification and does not require prior professional experience, it is written for candidates at this stage.
Which industries hire the most entry level accounting specialists?
Entry Level accounting specialist roles concentrate in Education, Banking & Financial Services, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Those sectors tend to drive entry level hiring because they process high transaction volumes, run large accounts payable and receivable functions, and have ongoing need for detail-oriented staff who can grow within structured finance teams.
