Entry Level Insurance Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level insurance job?
Employers at this level look for candidates with a relevant degree in business, finance, or a related field, though many roles welcome applicants who have completed an insurance licensing course or exam. Internship experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with policy types or claims processes give candidates a real edge. Applying to roles that explicitly list zero to two years of experience keeps your search focused.
Which companies hire entry level insurances?
Companies hiring entry level insurances right now include Farmers Insurance, COUNTRY Financial, and State Farm, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring covers regional carriers, national insurers, independent agencies, and financial services firms that bring on junior staff for underwriting, claims, and customer-facing roles.
Are there remote entry level insurance jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still make up the majority of entry level openings. About 40% of entry level insurance openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which means candidates outside major insurance hubs can still access real opportunities without relocating.
Are these new grad insurance jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles in insurance. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward the requirement, or accepts a relevant license or certification in place of direct work history. Filtering for those signals helps new grads find the right fit.
Which industries hire the most entry level insurances?
Entry level insurance roles concentrate in Insurance, Science & Research, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive volume at this level because they maintain large customer bases and ongoing needs for claims support, policy administration, and sales roles that are structured to develop junior talent.
