Advanced Practice Provider Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a advanced practice provider job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's large integrated health systems, federally qualified health centers serving the Northside and Westside communities, and the growing urgent care and multispecialty group market on the Southside. Candidates with experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or family practice tend to move fastest in this market. A DEA registration and Florida APRN or PA licensure in hand before applying gives you a concrete edge over applicants still completing those steps.
Which companies hire advanced practice providers in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring advanced practice providers in Jacksonville include UF Health, Baptist Health of Northeast Florida, and Nemours, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's hiring landscape mixes large nonprofit hospital systems with regional urgent care chains, Veterans Affairs facilities, and independent physician groups concentrated along the I-295 corridor and the Southside Medical District.
Are there remote advanced practice provider jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though most advanced practice provider roles require in-person patient contact, making fully remote positions rare compared to desk-based fields. About 4% of advanced practice provider openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with telehealth and care management roles representing the strongest share of those listings. Chronic disease management and behavioral health consult positions are the most likely to offer a hybrid schedule locally.
How can I get a advanced practice provider job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is a new-graduate or student-loan-repayment position at one of the area's federally qualified health centers or Veterans Affairs outpatient clinics, which regularly onboard APPs with limited post-graduate experience. Positions in urgent care chains along the Southside and Baptist Health's outpatient network also tend to have structured onboarding for newer providers. Completing clinical rotations at a Jacksonville facility and maintaining those attending relationships gives you a direct referral advantage when openings post.
Which industries hire the most advanced practice providers in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville advanced practice provider roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's status as a regional referral hub for Northeast Florida and its large active-duty and veteran population through Naval Station Mayport sustain consistent demand across those sectors year-round.
