Kenyon College, a highly selective liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the Department of American Studies, effective immediately.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teaching responsibilities consist of two courses in the Fall semester and three in the Spring semester.
- We seek applications from interdisciplinary scholars whose work engages the field of American Studies.
- Candidates who specialize in the study of policing and carcerality are especially encouraged to apply.
- Applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching and to creating a classroom environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds can flourish.
- A Ph.D. in hand (in American Studies or related discipline) is preferred; applicants who are ABD will be considered.

- a cover letter detailing teaching and research interests, the relevance of those interests to the field of American Studies, as well as pedagogical approaches and experience;
- a curriculum vitae;
