Entry Level Analytical Chemist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level analytical chemist job?
Focus on hands-on lab experience from coursework, internships, or co-ops, and highlight specific techniques you have used, such as HPLC, GC-MS, or titration. Employers at this level look for familiarity with standard lab safety protocols, attention to detail in data recording, and a working knowledge of GLP or GMP environments. A targeted resume that names instruments and methods gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire entry level analytical chemists?
Companies hiring entry level analytical chemists right now include Celanese, PPG, and DuPont, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of employers, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, contract testing laboratories, food and beverage producers, and specialty chemical companies that regularly onboard junior chemists to support quality control and R&D functions.
Are there remote entry level analytical chemist jobs?
Yes, though most analytical chemist work is lab-based, some supporting roles do offer flexibility. About 0% of entry level analytical chemist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering data analysis, report writing, or regulatory documentation tasks. Fully remote positions at this level are less common than in other fields, so candidates open to on-site or hybrid arrangements will see the widest range of opportunities.
Are these new grad analytical chemist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior analytical chemist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-op rotations toward the requirement, or explicitly accepts a strong academic project or portfolio in place of full-time work history. Searching for roles labeled junior or associate alongside entry level will surface the full range of new grad openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level analytical chemists?
Entry Level analytical chemist roles concentrate in Chemicals & Materials, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at the entry level because they depend on routine testing, quality assurance, and compliance workflows that are well-suited to recent graduates building foundational lab skills.
