INTRODUCTION
Barclays Services LLC seeks API Governance Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What will you be doing?
- Onboard APIs on Akana API Platform and establish governance processes for API lifecycle management. Ensure APIs comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Assist clients, partners, and internal teams in integrating with organization of APIs. Provide step-by-step guidance during the onboarding process, including authentication setup, API usage and troubleshooting.
- Create and manage onboarding workflows to streamline API integration. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including technical tutorials. Create API onboarding templates, reference samples and walkthroughs to simplify implementation.
- Act as a point of contact between external partners and internal teams to address integration challenges and technical issues.
- Manage and provision API access credentials for clients and partners. Setup and configure authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and SAML. Ensure secure API access and compliance with organizational policies.
- Conduct training sessions or workshops for developers, business partners and internal clients to demonstrate API integration techniques. Provide technical support and best practices for utilizing APIs efficiently.
- Assist users in testing API integrations, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with guidelines. Validate to ensure API calls performance and reliability expectations during onboarding. Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions during integration.
- Generate onboarding reports to share with stakeholders and assess the effectiveness of the process.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the tools to simplify the onboarding experience for users. Continuously improve onboarding approach based on user feedback and technological advancements.
- Act as a technical scrum master to manage the delivery of user stories.
- May telecommute.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Salary: $150,550 per year
- Maximum Salary: $165,605 per year
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
- Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
- Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.
- Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
- Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
