Technical Services Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical services manager in New Jersey?
Most technical services managers in New Jersey enter the role through a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or information systems combined with several years of hands-on technical work before moving into management. There is no state-issued license specific to the role, but New Jersey employers in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals and defense often require PMP certification, ITIL credentials, or industry-specific compliance training as a condition of hire. Building experience with New Jersey's dominant sectors gives candidates a measurable edge.
How much do technical services managers make in New Jersey?
Technical services managers in New Jersey earn a median of about $203,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $137,070 for the lowest 10% to over $294,110 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical services managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring technical services managers in New Jersey right now include JPMorganChase, Tradebe, and Sherwin-Williams, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's concentration of global pharmaceutical headquarters, financial technology firms, and defense contractors means demand for this role is spread across a broad range of well-established organizations rather than clustered in a single industry.
Which New Jersey cities have the most technical services manager jobs?
Jersey City, Dunellen, and Kenilworth are the New Jersey cities with the most technical services manager openings. Newark anchors the market as the state's largest commercial and logistics hub, Princeton draws heavily from its dense pharmaceutical and research corridor, and Edison's central location within the Route 1 technology belt makes it a consistent source of openings from both corporate headquarters and large regional offices.
Are there remote technical services manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, but with meaningful limitations. About 0% of technical services manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the fact that many aspects of the role require on-site vendor coordination, data center oversight, or direct team supervision. The parts of the role most likely to be performed remotely are strategic planning, reporting, and client communication rather than hands-on technical operations.
How can I get hired as a technical services manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is transitioning from a technical individual-contributor role such as systems administrator, field service engineer, or IT support lead at a New Jersey employer in pharma, fintech, or managed services. Large New Jersey organizations like Cognizant and Siemens run associate and rotational programs that pipeline technical staff into supervisory roles. Earning a PMP or ITIL Foundation credential while still in a contributor position signals readiness for management and is consistently cited in New Jersey entry-level manager postings.
Where can I find and apply to technical services manager jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to technical services manager jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
