Commercial Analyst Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial analyst in New Jersey?
A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics is the standard entry point for commercial analyst roles in New Jersey. The role carries no state-issued license or registration requirement. Most New Jersey employers, particularly in pharma and financial services, expect candidates to demonstrate analytical tools proficiency and domain knowledge gained through coursework, internships, or adjacent roles such as financial analyst or pricing coordinator.
Which companies hire commercial analysts in New Jersey?
Employers hiring commercial analysts in New Jersey right now include Columbia Bank (NJ), Quest Diagnostics, and Qcells, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters and regional financial services firms means demand is consistent and distributed across both large multinationals and mid-size specialty companies throughout the state.
Which New Jersey cities have the most commercial analyst jobs?
Edison, Clifton, and Princeton have the most commercial analyst openings in New Jersey. Newark anchors demand through its financial services and insurance sector, Princeton draws heavily from the pharmaceutical and life sciences headquarters clustered along the Route 1 corridor, and Parsippany reflects the concentration of healthcare, consumer goods, and logistics company offices that have made Morris County one of the state's most active commercial hiring markets.
Are there remote commercial analyst jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields. Commercial analyst work is desk-based and output-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 100% of commercial analyst openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broader flexibility across the pharma and financial services employers that dominate the state's market. Pricing analysis and contract reporting roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a commercial analyst in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a junior analyst or commercial operations coordinator role at one of New Jersey's large pharmaceutical or financial services employers, which regularly hire new graduates into rotational and analyst development programs. Companies like Johnson & Johnson and Prudential Financial run structured early-career programs that feed into commercial analyst tracks. A strong Excel portfolio, familiarity with pricing tools, and a degree in a quantitative field give candidates a clear edge over general business graduates.
