Commercial Analyst Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial analyst in Ohio?
Most commercial analyst roles in Ohio require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business administration. No state-issued license is required for the role itself. Ohio employers, particularly in Columbus and Cincinnati, look for candidates who have completed relevant coursework in financial analysis or statistics, and many prefer applicants who have earned a CFA designation or are working toward it. Internships with Ohio-based manufacturers, insurers, or retailers strengthen a candidate's profile significantly.
Which companies hire commercial analysts in Ohio?
Employers hiring commercial analysts in Ohio right now include KeyBank, Park National Bank, and Stifel, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Ohio's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major insurance carriers means commercial analyst demand stays broad across industries rather than clustering in a single sector.
Which Ohio cities have the most commercial analyst jobs?
Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland have the most commercial analyst openings in Ohio. Columbus anchors the market through its density of insurance, retail, and financial services headquarters, while Cleveland's industrial and healthcare sectors generate consistent analyst demand and Cincinnati benefits from the presence of large consumer goods and banking employers headquartered in the region.
Are there remote commercial analyst jobs in Ohio?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of commercial analyst openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based, data-driven nature of the work. Financial modeling, pricing analysis, and reporting tasks are the functions most likely to be performed fully remotely, while roles that require close collaboration with sales or operations teams tend to be hybrid.
How can I get hired as a commercial analyst in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for junior analyst or business analyst associate roles at large Ohio employers in Columbus and Cincinnati, where companies like Nationwide and Procter and Gamble run structured new-graduate programs that rotate candidates through commercial and financial analysis functions. Lateral moves from roles such as sales coordinator, pricing specialist, or financial reporting assistant are common entry points. Building a portfolio of Excel-based models or Tableau dashboards and earning an entry-level financial certification gives candidates without direct experience a concrete advantage.
Where can I find and apply to commercial analyst jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to commercial analyst jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Ohio employers across Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and beyond. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly through the listings on this page.
