Application Engineer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a application engineer in Georgia?
Most application engineer roles in Georgia require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, or systems engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Georgia does not require a state license for most application engineer positions, though engineers who stamp public drawings need a Professional Engineer license issued through the Georgia State Board of Professional Engineers. Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, and Kennesaw State are well-regarded feeder institutions for this role in the state.
Which companies hire application engineers in Georgia?
Employers hiring application engineers in Georgia right now include WEG Electric, HD Supply, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of manufacturing, logistics technology, and enterprise software headquarters makes it a consistently active state for this role year-round.
Which Georgia cities have the most application engineer jobs?
Atlanta, Duluth, and Alpharetta have the most application engineer openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share through its density of enterprise software firms, Fortune 500 headquarters, and defense contractors, while Savannah's expanding port and logistics technology sector and Columbus's manufacturing base bring consistent demand outside the metro core.
Are there remote application engineer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, though availability depends on the specialization. About 40% of application engineer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote work most common in software-focused or customer solutions roles and least common in positions requiring on-site hardware integration, lab work, or direct equipment commissioning.
How can I get hired as a application engineer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to associate or junior application engineer openings at Georgia-based manufacturing or technology firms that run structured rotational or new-graduate programs, such as those offered by Siemens and Honeywell at their Georgia facilities. Lateral moves from field service technician, technical support specialist, or quality assurance roles are also common entry points. A strong capstone project, a GitHub portfolio of integration work, or an EIT designation from the Georgia State Board can meaningfully differentiate a candidate with limited professional history.
Where can I find and apply to application engineer jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to application engineer jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
