Familiarity with multi-entity or grant-based accounting is a genuine edge with the nonprofits concentrated in the Eastside and Central District.
Which companies hire bookkeepers in Seattle?

About 54% of bookkeeper openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely Seattle employers have adopted cloud accounting tools. Fully remote roles are most common in technology companies and professional services firms headquartered in South Lake Union and Bellevue.
How can I get a bookkeeper job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is targeting accounts payable or receivable clerk roles at mid-size construction firms, property management companies, and the region's large nonprofit organizations, all of which hire steadily and promote from within. Seattle Community College and Bellevue College both offer short accounting certificate programs that carry weight with local hiring managers.
