POSITION TITLE: CAE Engineer

HOURS / WEEK: 40

JOB SITE LOCATION: 1701 Harmon Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES: Mubea Tailor Rolled Blanks, LLC seeks a CAE Engineer based out of our office at 1701 Harmon Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Prepare and analyze CAE models used for the design and development of roll bonded aluminum cold plates and tailor rolled steel automotive components. Perform CAE model development, including mesh generation, material definition, and model set up, for cold plates and tailor rolled blanks (“TRB”) used in automotive applications. Perform CAE job submission and post-processing of CAE simulations, including illustration of CAE results. Analyze FEA-based performance of CAE models to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Establish design modifications based on CAE performance. Maintain full documentation of CAE model changes and results. Evaluate engineering test results for cold plate and TRB development and CAE correlation. Collaborate with project engineering and material teams to develop cold plate and TRB product designs.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience in CAE Engineering, FEA Engineering, or Design Engineering position or related. Experience must include: experience evaluating thermal fluid performance; and two years of experience with each of the following: Creating and optimizing sheet metal surface designs for structural performance and manufacturability; Evaluating CAE NVH performance, including normal modes, static, and dynamic stiffness analyses; Performing static analysis using Optistruct to evaluate 3D buckling in steel panels; Using Hypermesh and LS-Dyna to evaluate CAE results; and Building CAD models for both prototype and production.
