St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Nurse Manager position for the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CVSICU) located at the Edgewood, Kentucky campus.
Shift & Hours: 1st shift; Full-time, 40 hours weekly.

Has 24/7 responsibility for leadership and management functions of an operational business unit(s). Demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse work team to accomplish the strategic plan of the organization. Responsible for the delivery of evidence-based quality patient care and managing the daily operations of a business unit, including staffing, budget, supplies, equipment, and physician relations. Responsible for hiring, evaluating, and maintaining competent staff to serve patient needs in a busy, fast-paced environment. Provide direct patient care as required. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in interactions with all patients, families, visitors and other associates.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES
BSN, Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence. Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed. Meets contact hours requirements for Licensure, including all state-required courses.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Ability to direct self and others and interpret nursing Policies and Procedures and standards. Knowledge of Management theory. Demonstrates application of Leadership concepts. Clinical expertise relevant.
KIND AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE
3 years nursing experience; experience relevant to the specific clinical area including: experience as Assistant Nurse Manager or equivalent position and experience with staffing/scheduling and managing a unit/department budget.
DESIRABLE
Master’s in nursing or health care related field. Certification in their specialty and/or nurse executive. Ability to interface designated clinical area with the institution’s mission, goals and objectives as it relates to organizational structure and process. Previous experience as Nurse Manager. Budget experience and ability to function as a change agent.
