Accountabilities:
- Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures
- Participate in in-services, continuing education, and workshops to remain abreast of new procedures and current technologies.
- Accountable for the maintenance of quality control in all areas of the lab
- Provide a secure and safe environment for patients and staff maintaining constant awareness of safety hazards
- Assistance with new staff orientation within the department
- Act as a role model within the department serving as a resource person for all clinical activities
- Assisting in the development of new operating procedures
Position Requirements:
- Requires 2 or more years cardiac Cath lab experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in PTCA with an AAS in RTR or a minimum of 5 years' experience as RTR preferred.
- Minimum of 12 CEU hours per year.
- This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to anticipate patient and unit needs.
- The ability to function in a high stress environment, lift and move heavy patients and equipment, stand for long periods of time, wearing lead apron (approx. 18 lbs.).
- Current License in the state of IL as a RT
- ACLS
- No Call required. No weekends or holidays.
