Overview
The RMG Orthopedic and Spine Center Practice (OSC) Manager is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating staff and activities at the Riverside Orthopedics and Spine Center to provide high quality, cost-effective care while delivering a positive customer experience. This individual is responsible for monitoring financial stability of the OSC including effective management of staffing, revenue cycle metrics, budgetary compliance, and physician efficiency. The practice manager will meet with the operations director routinely. They are responsible for the mentoring, development, and growth of their staff. In collaboration with the operations director, the manager is responsible for employee relationships including disciplinary action, training, and promotions of practice personnel. The practice manager will be an advocate for RMG by promoting a positive attitude when speaking of RMG's mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Acts as a role model for staff in handling patient, physician and department relations and communicates appropriate issues to the Orthopedics/Neuroscience Director
- Provides daily supervision and oversight to clerical and clinical staff. Provides leadership and direction for improving patient/customer experiences and clinical operations.
- Selects, trains/orients, and supervises departmental personnel. Responsible for work assignments and daily operations. Works to continually improve staff performance.
- Strives for outstanding customer service to all patients. Mentors and trains staff to provide superior customer services.
- Assist with on-boarding of new providers with credentialing dept and on-boarding coordinator.
- Encourage and promotes teamwork among all departments and services within the facility.
- Ensures provisions of safe, high quality patient care by staff.
- Ensures that office space, supplies, equipment and assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care
- Ensures all business functions are operative and that processes are effectively and efficiently in place.
- Conducts consistent staff meetings; seizes opportunities to foster communication, provide practice and organizational updates, share information, teach and continually challenge and develop staff.
- Reviews processes and makes recommendations for improvement
- Creates goals for clinic operations and ensures these goals are aligned with organizational goals.
- Makes recommendations for annual budget and maximizes opportunities to meet and exceed budget guidelines.
- In conjunction with department director and where applicable, evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Work with Human Resources on employee issues.
- Envision and Foster Strategic growth of practice and service line.
- Works with Marketing Liaison for promotion and growth of practice.
- Manages front desk operations providing guidance and oversight for registration, scheduling, patient distribution, and cash collections.
- Performs functions related to the billing process including patient/physician billing matters, ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Reviews and approves timekeeping information pertaining to payroll.
- Maintains appropriate health information standards.
- Maintain DNV and ISO 9001 compliance.
- Ensures physicians and staff adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 Years of Medical Practice or Office Management Experience (At Least 2 Years in Health-Related Field)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- EPIC documentation experience preferred
REQUIRED LICENSURE/EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree in health or business administration or related field required within 5 years of hire.
- Demonstrates operational leadership experience including an understanding of core measures and CMS regulations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION
- Masters Degree in healthcare, business administration or related field preferred.
