INTRODUCTION
What You’ll Do
- Review customer inquiries and develop technical solutions that align with customer requirements and project objectives.
- Perform process calculations and equipment sizing to ensure system performance and compliance with specifications.
- Review customer specifications, identify technical requirements, and clearly define any exceptions.
- Develop technical specifications for purchased equipment and components.
- Define project scope and prepare cost estimates to support proposals and project execution.
- Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for proposals and projects.
- Partner with designers to optimize equipment layouts and overall system design.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for technical compliance and scope completeness.
- Support customer discussions and provide technical guidance in collaboration with the Sales team.
- Provide process engineering support throughout project execution after order award.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues and support operational improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, product enhancements, design standardization, and cost reduction efforts.
- Utilize engineering tools including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight, Visio, SAP, and related software to support project development.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience performing process calculations, equipment sizing, and process system design.
- Ability to develop and interpret P&IDs, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Experience supporting customer proposals, applications engineering, process design, or industrial equipment projects.
- Knowledge of industrial process equipment, fluid handling systems, air pollution control equipment, coating systems, or related technologies.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight, Visio, SAP, or similar engineering software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with customers, suppliers, sales teams, and engineering colleagues.
- Experience supporting battery manufacturing, environmental systems, coating technologies, or capital equipment projects is preferred.
