Civil Project Engineer Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a civil project engineer job in Orlando?
Focus on Orlando's highest-volume hiring sectors: transportation infrastructure tied to FDOT District 5, residential and commercial land development feeding Central Florida's rapid growth, and utility and stormwater projects serving the region's expanding municipalities. Engineers with Florida-relevant experience in drainage design, roadway permitting, or site development plans stand out. Firms working on Orlando's ongoing transit and highway expansion are a strong starting point.
Which companies hire civil project engineers in Orlando?
Employers hiring civil project engineers in Orlando right now include Keith, Jobot, and Garver, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's market includes a mix of large engineering consultancies with regional offices, regional land development firms, and public agencies managing infrastructure across Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties.
Are there remote civil project engineer jobs in Orlando?
Yes, but only for select tasks, since civil project engineering is largely field- and site-dependent. About 0% of civil project engineer openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting roles where design, CAD drafting, and permitting coordination can be done off-site. Construction administration and site inspection work remains firmly on-site across Orlando's active project corridors.
How can I get a civil project engineer job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is through engineering consulting firms that staff large FDOT or municipal contracts, where junior engineers support permitting, quantity takeoffs, and field observation. Entry-level roles in site development or utility design at regional consultancies offer hands-on training fast. Candidates who have completed internships tied to Florida infrastructure projects, or who hold an EI certification, move to the front of the line locally.
Which industries hire the most civil project engineers in Orlando?
Orlando civil project engineer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's sustained population growth, active highway expansion program, and large-scale mixed-use and residential development pipeline keep demand high across those sectors year-round.
