Clinical Case Review Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical case review in California?
Most clinical case review positions in California require an active clinical license issued by a California board, most commonly an RN license from the California Board of Registered Nursing or a clinical social work license from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Employers typically expect a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related clinical field alongside direct patient care experience before transitioning into a review role. Certifications such as the Accredited Case Manager credential strengthen applications considerably.
Which companies hire clinical case reviews in California?
Employers hiring clinical case reviews in California right now include American Traveler, HiredFirst, and Kern Medical, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. California's large managed care market means health plans and integrated delivery systems consistently post the highest volume of clinical case review openings in the state.
Which California cities have the most clinical case review jobs?
Eureka, Irvine, and Burbank have the most clinical case review openings in California. Los Angeles and San Diego concentrate openings because of their dense networks of major health plans, hospital systems, and workers' compensation insurers, while San Francisco draws demand from large integrated systems and technology-sector employer health programs headquartered in the Bay Area.
How can I get hired as a clinical case review in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for utilization review coordinator or case management assistant roles at large California health plans or hospital systems, which often require only an active clinical license rather than years of review experience. Kaiser Permanente and Dignity Health run structured onboarding programs that bring clinicians with acute care backgrounds into review functions. Building familiarity with InterQual criteria and completing a case management certificate through a California community college or professional association gives candidates a practical edge over other applicants.
Where can I find and apply to clinical case review jobs in California?
