We are looking for a Digital Technology Lead, Clinical Analytics to join our Digital Technology – Clinical Patient Evidence team based out of Raleigh, NC (hybrid).
About The Role
This pivotal role centers on leveraging advanced analytics and business intelligence to drive data-informed decision-making across Clinical Operations (GCSO) and digital technology initiatives. The position is responsible for designing and implementing robust analytics strategies that support the full spectrum of clinical trial activities, from planning to execution and optimization. This role will champion the adoption and integration of cutting-edge analytics and business intelligence technologies—including PowerBI, AI, GenAI, and large language models (LLMs)—to enhance core clinical development processes.
Who You’ll Work With
This individual will work in close partnership with stakeholders throughout the clinical development and clinical study operations journey, the role identifies opportunities to harness data, uncovers actionable insights, and translates complex analytics into innovative, scalable business solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute the roadmap for clinical analytics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, initiatives and industry best practices.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and lifecycle management of clinical analytics projects and platforms.
- Ensure successful integration of digital solutions with internal and external systems, including CROs, labs, and regulatory partners.
- Assume the role of a system owner (ITSO) for designated projects, ensuring end-to-end responsibility for the success of IT implementations, including computerized system validation activities.
- Partner with clinical operations, Clinical Data Management, and various Digital Tech teams to define requirements and deliver scalable, user-centric solutions.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology partners (internal/external).
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of internal and external data flows, processes in UCB and Drug Development, and act as a business champion for data as a corporate asset and the digitalization process.
- Ensure all digital solutions comply with GxP, GDPR, and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Oversee validation, documentation, and audit readiness of clinical analytics platforms.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and advanced analytics.
- Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the adoption of new tools and methodologies to enhance clinical trial efficiency.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, ensuring service quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business needs.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
Required:
- Bachelors degree in computer sciences or related field
- 5+ years of experience in an Information Technology environment required with 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to use analytical environments like PowerBI, Spotfire, Qlik to discover insights
Preferred:
- Experience with key technology services providers and best practices of the industry.
- Experience in business and IT process outsourcing and external partner collaboration.
- Experience in system integration
- Experience in process assessment, analysis, modelling, improvement and automation methodology.
- Experience in system validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Passion for Data Science and developing analytical solutions
- Knowledge in advanced analytics (including machine learning) and data mining technologies
This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $125,000 - $165,000. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
