Clinical Data Manager Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical data manager in Louisiana?
Most clinical data manager roles in Louisiana require a bachelor's degree in life sciences, nursing, health informatics, or a closely related field. Louisiana does not issue a state-specific license for clinical data managers, so employers rely on professional credentials such as the Society of Clinical Data Management's Certified Clinical Data Manager designation. Building experience through clinical research coordinator or data entry roles at Louisiana academic medical centers or contract research organizations is the most direct path into management.
Which companies hire clinical data managers in Louisiana?
Employers hiring clinical data managers in Louisiana right now include Jacobs, Entergy, and Black Box, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Academic health systems and CROs with a Gulf South presence drive the steadiest volume of openings in the state.
Which Louisiana cities have the most clinical data manager jobs?
New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Rayville account for the greatest concentration of clinical data manager openings in Louisiana. New Orleans leads because of its density of academic medical centers and teaching hospitals, while Baton Rouge benefits from proximity to LSU Health and a growing life sciences corridor, and Shreveport draws postings through LSU Health Shreveport and the regional CRO presence it supports.
Are there remote clinical data manager jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most fields, because clinical data management is primarily an analytical and systems-based role that does not require physical presence at a trial site. About 34% of clinical data manager openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly the field has adopted distributed work models. Database programming, data review, and query management tasks are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a clinical data manager in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical research coordinator or data entry associate role at a Louisiana academic medical center or teaching hospital, such as those affiliated with Ochsner Health, Tulane, or LSU Health campuses in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, or Shreveport. Many of these institutions post new-graduate research assistant and CRC roles that build direct trial data exposure. Earning the SCDM Associate Clinical Data Manager certification alongside hands-on EDC training in Medidata or Veeva signals readiness to move into a junior management role.
Where can I find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to whichever fit.
