Position Responsibilities
- Analyze academic performance of schools for annual performance reports and Mayoral updates.
- Lead meetings with school and network academic leaders three times a year to present and review data.
- Audit MSCS academic performance data to identify trends, strengths, and shortcomings.
- Draft, edit, and finalize annual accountability reports on school academic performance.
- Correspond and problem-solve with school leaders around academic issues and data collection.
- Evaluate applications for new charter schools, mid-charter review, and charter renewal.
- Manage the pre-opening process for select new schools after they are granted a charter.
- Research and evaluate best practices related to charter school academics to propose future revisions to Performance Framework.
- Collaborate with the Director of Charter Schools and other analysts around decision-making in areas such as accountability, performance improvement plans and other school interventions, charter renewals and closures, and the vision and direction of the Office of Education Innovation.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Communications and Operations in discussing and pursuing relevant projects that align with OEI’s mission and goals.
- Coordinate data sharing with external groups (e.g., Indiana Department of Education, Public Impact, NWEA, etc.) and OEI for data collection.
- Serve as a resource to OEI staff, charter schools, parents, and the public.
- Develop presentations and documents for the Mayor, Director of Charter Schools, Indianapolis Charter School Board, and external partners as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) to four (4) years’ experience required. Experience with data analysis is required. Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be well-organized and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret academic data is required. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions. Must have a demonstrated ability to meet specific goals in a team-oriented environment. Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
