How do I get a clinical laboratory scientist job in Los Angeles?
The strongest hiring activity in Los Angeles is concentrated in large academic medical centers near Westwood and the Medical Center corridor, independent reference laboratories in the South Bay, and outpatient networks across the San Fernando Valley. Candidates with ASCP certification and experience in high-throughput hematology, microbiology, or molecular diagnostics move fastest here. Applying directly through hospital career portals and networking through local laboratory professional chapters gives you a genuine edge in this market.

The local market is anchored by large academic health systems, regional hospital networks, and national reference laboratory operators with major processing hubs across the metro area.
Are there remote clinical laboratory scientist jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though with significant limits: hands-on bench work in hematology, microbiology, and specimen processing must be performed on-site, so fully remote roles are rare. How can I get a clinical laboratory scientist job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is a laboratory technician or phlebotomy role at one of the city's large outpatient collection networks or community hospital labs, which regularly hire candidates completing their clinical training. Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles County health facilities, and regional reference lab sites frequently post entry-level positions that accept new graduates. Completing externship hours at a Los Angeles-area accredited training program strengthens your application considerably for these employers.
