Entry Level Clinical Laboratory Technologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level clinical laboratory technologist job?
Entry level clinical laboratory technologist employers look for candidates who have completed an accredited MLT or CLT program, hold or are eligible for ASCP or AMT certification, and can show hands-on clinical rotation experience. Highlighting proficiency in specific analyzers, familiarity with laboratory information systems, and any externship or practicum work gives new candidates a real edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level clinical laboratory technologists?
Companies hiring entry level clinical laboratory technologists right now include Labcorp, NeoGenomics Laboratories, and Stony Brook University Medical Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hospital systems, reference laboratories, and outpatient diagnostic centers tend to post the most entry level openings, often recruiting new graduates directly from accredited programs.
Are there remote entry level clinical laboratory technologist jobs?
Yes, though most clinical laboratory technologist roles require on-site work given hands-on specimen handling duties. About 15% of entry level clinical laboratory technologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve laboratory data review, reporting, or quality assurance functions rather than direct bench work.
Are these new grad clinical laboratory technologist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior clinical laboratory technologist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts clinical rotations or internships toward the requirement, or accepts candidates who are newly certified or certification-eligible, without requiring prior independent laboratory employment.
Which industries hire the most entry level clinical laboratory technologists?
Entry Level clinical laboratory technologist roles concentrate in Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they maintain high specimen volumes and regularly onboard new graduates to meet staffing needs across routine testing departments.
