Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Clinical Operations plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality medical and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and families involved in the foster care system. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, JCCA Administration, and our campus healthcare teams, this leader helps allocate resources efficiently, support regulatory compliance, and enhance the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of the clients we serve.
The Coordinator also partners with medical professionals, external organizations, government agencies, and advocacy groups to strengthen outpatient care and related administrative functions. This position works collaboratively with Human Resources to ensure personnel records remain compliant with state and federal requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations of the Campus Medical Department’s nursing program, applying sound clinical judgment and ensuring adherence to New York State nursing standards and child welfare regulations.
Provide high-quality clinical care and case management as needed, delivering services aligned with each client’s individualized care plan and agency policies.
Actively participate in staff meetings, medical rounds, case reviews, FTCs, and other multidisciplinary team discussions.
Plan, delegate, and coordinate daily assignments for nursing and administrative staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Partner with nursing leadership to manage staffing schedules, including coverage for call-outs and schedule adjustments.
Engage in clinical, medical, and quality improvement meetings to support excellence in care delivery.
Train and educate clinical teams, milieu staff, and foster/birth parents on health practices, medication administration, and the medical needs of youth.
Coordinate care with community-based medical providers to ensure continuity and accessibility of services.
Support department-wide initiatives to standardize and strengthen nursing and healthcare processes.
Evaluate and guide staff performance, implementing coaching, feedback, and disciplinary actions in accordance with agency policy.
Mentor and develop healthcare staff, setting clear expectations and supporting ongoing professional development.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards by obtaining necessary records, reviewing ACS triage materials, and communicating with relevant agencies.
Manage documentation for regulatory reviews and investigations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor and communicate updates related to medical mandates and compliance requirements.
Audit clinical records to maintain high standards of documentation and service quality.
Promote a safe and organized work environment, reinforcing procedures and collaborating with healthcare professionals as needed.
Qualifications:
New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required
Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience in pediatric and adolescent care
Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with staff, clients, and service providers
Ability to multitask effectively and adapt to changing priorities
Demonstrated leadership in crisis or emergency situations
Knowledge of the medical and developmental needs of children with disabilities
Strong organizational, delegation and communication skills
Knowledge of foster care medical mandates and regulations
Current CPR certification
Salary: $90K
