Entry Level Clinical Pathologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level clinical pathologist job?
Start by completing a pathology residency or fellowship, as most entry level positions require board eligibility or certification from the American Board of Pathology. Hands-on experience from residency rotations is your strongest credential at this stage. Tailoring your application to highlight specific subspecialty exposure, such as clinical chemistry, hematopathology, or microbiology, gives you a clear edge over candidates with only general training.
Which companies hire entry level clinical pathologists?
Companies hiring entry level clinical pathologists right now include Ivyrehab Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Speech-Language Pathology, Pllc, Ascend Rehab, and Cole Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from hospital systems, independent laboratory networks, and academic medical centers that actively recruit newly trained pathologists to fill staffing needs across their diagnostic service lines.
Are there remote entry level clinical pathologist jobs?
Yes, though most clinical pathologist roles remain on-site given the nature of laboratory and diagnostic work. About 0% of entry level clinical pathologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote opportunities concentrated in digital pathology, telepathology review, and consultative roles that do not require direct specimen handling.
Are these new grad clinical pathologist jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior clinical pathologist roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly listing typically welcomes candidates with zero to two years of post-residency experience, accepts a pending board certification, and values internship rotations or fellowship training in place of extended independent practice.
Which industries hire the most entry level clinical pathologists?
Entry Level clinical pathologist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high-volume diagnostic laboratories and academic training programs that consistently need newly credentialed pathologists to support growing patient testing demands.
