Entry Level Sterile Processing Tech Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level sterile processing tech job?
Complete a sterile processing certification through a program accredited by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management or a comparable body, since most employers at this level treat certification as a baseline requirement. Hands-on externship hours completed during your training program give you a concrete edge, and candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with decontamination protocols, instrument inspection, and sterilization methods move to the top of entry level shortlists faster than those with general healthcare experience alone.
Which companies hire entry level sterile processing techs?
Companies hiring entry level sterile processing techs right now include Endeavor Health, Olmsted Medical Center, and UCHealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring is concentrated among hospital systems, ambulatory surgery centers, and healthcare staffing agencies that build their technician pipelines from newly certified and recent graduate candidates.
Are there remote entry level sterile processing tech jobs?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited given that sterile processing work is almost entirely hands-on and facility-based. About 0% of entry level sterile processing tech openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those listings typically involve training coordination, supply chain support, or administrative roles adjacent to the core technical function rather than direct instrument reprocessing work.
Are these new grad sterile processing tech jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior sterile processing tech roles alongside other entry level listings. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts externship or clinical rotation hours in place of paid work history, or explicitly notes that it will train the right candidate, making it accessible to anyone who has completed their certification program but has not yet held a full-time position.
Which industries hire the most entry level sterile processing techs?
Entry Level sterile processing tech roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate procedure-heavy environments with continuous instrument turnover, creating steady demand for certified technicians who are ready to work under supervision from their first day on the job.
