Clinical Research Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical research job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's life sciences corridor along North Meridian Street, the Indiana University Health and IU School of Medicine networks, and the contract research organizations anchored near downtown and the IUPUI campus. Candidates with GCP certification, experience managing IRB submissions, or familiarity with EDC platforms like Medidata stand out locally. Targeting CRA, CRC, or regulatory coordinator roles first gives you the strongest entry into the Indianapolis market.
Which companies hire clinical researchs in Indianapolis?
Employers hiring clinical researchs in Indianapolis right now include Eli Lilly, Indiana University, and American Oncology Network, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indianapolis draws a mix of large academic medical systems, pharma-aligned CROs, and mid-size biotech firms tied to the city's growing life sciences ecosystem.
Are there remote clinical research jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on role type: hands-on positions like clinical research coordinators require on-site presence, while remote work is more common for CRAs on monitoring visits, regulatory affairs, and data management roles. About 50% of clinical research openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Sponsor-side and CRO project management roles in Indianapolis tend to offer the most scheduling flexibility.
How can I get a clinical research job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is through a clinical research coordinator role at one of the IU Health or Eskenazi Health system hospitals, where entry-level research assistant positions regularly open for candidates with a health sciences degree and no prior research experience. Volunteering with IUPUI research programs or completing an ACRP or SOCRA certification course signals commitment to local hiring managers. Lateral moves from nursing, pharmacy technician, or EMT roles also convert well into CRC openings across Indianapolis's academic medical centers.
Which industries hire the most clinical researchs in Indianapolis?
Most clinical research openings in Indianapolis sit in Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indianapolis's concentration of academic medical centers, a mature pharmaceutical manufacturing base, and a growing CRO presence make those sectors the primary engines of local clinical research hiring.
