The Department of Pediatrics employs nearly 1,000 faculty and staff who work alongside employees of Riley Hospital for Children and students of Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) to make Riley Children's Health Indiana's largest and most skilled pediatric system. Job Summary
The Clinic Coordinator oversees the daily patient care and administrative operations for the Department of Pediatrics Children's Clinical Research Center (CCRC). This position manages pediatric participant check-in/check-out, specialized research and clinic scheduling, billing, insurance clearance, patient demographic verification, and compliant practice management software use. The Clinic Care coordinator also serves as the primary operational liaison between research team members, building Primary Duties and Responsibilities management, and patient families, for both clinical and research study teams.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinates and schedules individual research participant visits by processing study team request forms and accurately inputting appointment details into practice management and scheduling software.
- Directs the check-in and check-out processes for both clinical and research visits, ensuring correct patient demographic verification and a smooth workflow.
- Performs insurance confirmation, clearance, and processing as required for clinical appointments.
- Oversees the maintenance, stocking, and supply management for clinical and research equipment, ensuring al associated logs, calibration records, and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
General Responsibilities
- Supervises daily activities of patient care services staff and business operation functions.
- Assists in establishing schedules and assigns work.
- Recommends various personnel actions, including but not limited to recruiting, interviewing, selection, hiring, other training, and discipline actions of clinic.
- Manages patient check-in and check-out, centralized scheduling, revenue processing, insurance processing, maintenance of patient records, and compliant use of practice management software.
- Resolves patient care issues.
- Serves as the primary liaison for clinic staff, building operations, faculty and student clinic scheduling and patient communication with clinic leadership.
