American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric CVOR RN with at least 2 years of experience and an active IN or compact RN license to join a pediatric cardiovascular surgical team.
Details
- Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit within a short-term acute care children's hospital
- Primary focus on pediatric CV cases with cross-coverage in main OR when CV caseload is light
- Day shift options of 5x8-hour shifts (7a-330p) or 4x10-hour shifts (7a-530p)
- CVOR call required
- 100% floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- Required skills include basic surgical instruments, laparoscopic instruments, sternal saws, Midas drills, and basic power equipment
- Preferred experience with case cart, scrub role, crash cart, Fontan, VAD, and arterial switch procedures
- Preferred pediatric cardiac and trauma experience
- Preferred familiarity with DaVinci and Censitrac systems
- Nursing degree from a school accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care for pediatric cardiovascular surgical procedures including valve repair/replacement
- Support main OR cases such as vascular, general surgery, orthopedic, and ENT procedures as needed when CV caseload allows
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local IN residents are accepted and considered local candidates for this position
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12+ months of cumulative travel employment must complete a consecutive eligibility reset break (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
- Free parking available on-site
