Who's Hiring

Operating Room Technician Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a operating room technician job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's large hospital systems, freestanding surgical centers, and specialty orthopedic and cardiac practices, which consistently post the most openings locally. Experience in high-volume procedure types like joint replacement or cardiac surgery gives candidates a clear edge here. Concentrating your applications on facilities near the IUPUI medical corridor, Methodist Hospital, and the north-side surgical campuses puts you in front of the employers hiring most actively.
Which companies hire operating room technicians in Indianapolis?
Employers hiring operating room technicians in Indianapolis right now include American Traveler, Community Health Network, and LiveWell Homecare Agency, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's hiring pool runs from large academic medical centers and integrated health systems to privately owned ambulatory surgery centers scattered across the metro.
Are there remote operating room technician jobs in Indianapolis?
Remote work is rare for operating room technicians because the role requires direct, hands-on patient care inside a sterile surgical environment. About 0% of operating room technician openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be training coordinator or sterile processing educator positions rather than direct scrub tech roles.
How can I get a operating room technician job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is a surgical technologist externship tied to an accredited program at Ivy Tech Community College, which places students directly into local hospital operating rooms. Many Indianapolis ambulatory surgery centers hire graduates into scrub tech trainee roles, and central sterile processing positions at area hospitals offer a practical lateral move that builds familiarity with surgical instruments and OR workflow before stepping into a full tech role.
