Job Description
Job Description
We are influencing the transformation of future transportation with ADAS and Automated Driving. Are you ready to make a difference at GM? The Driver Monitoring Systems and Execution team is passionate about defining, integrating, and testing Active Safety and Automated Driving systems. We are looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to lead development and integration of Driver Monitoring technologies across VIP, SDV2.0, and SC3.0. In this role, you will lead development at the intersection of in-cabin sensing hardware, supplier and GM-owned software, MCU/SoC integration, and automated driving systems. You will define, develop, and execute key driver monitoring capabilities—including drowsiness, inattention, unresponsiveness/asleep detection, and SC3.0 state determination for eyes-off operation. You will own driver monitoring feature performance and state determination for ADAS and AV feature integration, ensuring robust operation and performance validation across vehicle, bench, and simulation environments. The ideal candidate is an experienced Systems and Execution Engineer who sets the standard through leadership, ownership, and data-driven results — advancing GM's implementation of driver monitoring.

As Staff Systems Engineer for Driver Monitoring, you will lead technical solutions and execution in the domain, and provide daily leadership to a team of engineers.
What You'll Do

- Lead development and documentation of use cases and feature-level requirements for all Driver Monitoring capabilities (drowsy, attention, unresponsive/asleep, fallback readiness, driver scoring); maintain DNG/DOORS, FMEA and Xray traceability.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with NCAP and regulatory requirements for driver monitoring and driver attention assist.
- Lead the development and maturation of SDV2.0 / SC3.0 validation via bench integration, emphasizing scalable automation and high-fidelity simulation to drive efficiency and coverage.
- Develop and own unified integration, calibration, and validation test plans, including Xray test plans, SIL/HIL, and recorded end-to-end evidence for domain buyoff.
- Define and track KPIs using data analysis to reduce false alerts, improve context-aware drowsy/attention performance, and validate takeover readiness for SC3.0.
- Address data governance considerations for in-house vs. supplier signals, onboard retention, and privacy-aware feature design.
- Lead PI planning — clear deliverables, priorities, and timing on assignments.
- Deliver on-time feature performance buyoff for vehicle milestones (65%, 80%, 100%, RPR).
- Lead triage, issue resolution, and retros for GIMs and PRTSs in the Driver Monitoring domain.
- Provide calibration process and efficiency improvements; perform virtual and in-vehicle evaluation.
- Mentor and coach engineers; serve as technical SME for Driver Monitoring systems and execution.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience.
- Deep understanding of active safety systems, driver monitoring/driver state estimation, vehicle performance, and automated driving technology.

Clinical Systems Analyst Jobs in Detroit: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical systems analyst job in Detroit?
Focus your search on Detroit's dense healthcare infrastructure, particularly the Midtown Medical Mile, Henry Ford Health's New Center campus, and the regional health systems anchored in Detroit and Dearborn. Employers there prioritize candidates with hands-on EHR platform experience, especially Epic and Cerner. Familiarity with Detroit's dominant health system workflows and prior work in a clinical or health IT support role gives candidates a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire clinical systems analysts in Detroit?
Companies currently hiring clinical systems analysts in Detroit include Latitude AI, Epitec, and Brock Solutions, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Detroit's hiring landscape is anchored by large integrated health systems, regional hospital networks, and health IT vendors serving the broader Southeast Michigan market.
Are there remote clinical systems analyst jobs in Detroit?
Yes, though with limits: clinical systems analyst roles that involve EHR configuration, training, or on-site clinical support tend to require in-person presence, while project coordination and analytical work can often be done remotely. About 28% of clinical systems analyst openings tied to Detroit are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Implementation and go-live support roles in Detroit's health systems are most consistently on-site.
How can I get a clinical systems analyst job in Detroit with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Detroit is moving laterally from a clinical role, such as medical assistant, health unit coordinator, or IT support technician, within one of the city's large health systems. Henry Ford Health and Detroit Medical Center both have a history of promoting internal candidates into analyst roles.
