Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands.
You must have desired technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to interpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision.
Responsibilities:
- Uses blueprints, sketches, drawings, and/or job instruction sheets to produce dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece and setup requirements.
- Cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, drill presses, and drill machines.
- Enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit control information for CNC machines.
- Sets up, operates, and monitors machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Utilizes a variety of measurement tools and methods to evaluate finished parts against specifications.
- Reworks parts that don't meet specifications.
- Confers with supervisor, engineers, and production personnel to resolve machining problems.
- Follows all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment and performing hoist inspections.
- Routes completed parts to next machine according to the routing sequence.
- Performs data entry on the computer to update part locations.
- Updates work order cover sheets, daily production sheets, status sheets, and quality records.
- Participates in regular communication among peers and Team Leads to maintain productivity and solve problems as they arise.
- Operates with the close attention to detail required to meet print specifications, down to 0.0002in tolerances.
- Maintains 5S standards of organization and housekeeping of work area.
- Participates in improvement efforts for cell layout, process efficiencies, etc.
- Attends monthly departmental meetings and quarterly town hall meetings.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience
Key Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to perform basic calculations with numbers between 0.0001 and 0.1.
- Ability to convert between metric and US standard units of measure.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
- Ability to use standard problem-solving methods (ie. 5 Whys) as trained.
- Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours continuously during a shift.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs alone, or 70 lbs with assistance, repeatedly over an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to push or pull up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to see or have vision corrected with glasses/contacts to an evaluated level of no worse than 20/35.
Preferences:
- Associates degree, or training certification
- Ability to effectively use tools such as the following: depth gages, bore gages, height gages, feeler gages, micrometers, calipers, deburring tools, die grinders, drill presses, overhead lifting equipment, etc.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
This position will be based at our site in Mocksville, NC, with no anticipated travel.
