Entry Level Communications Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level communications manager job?
Employers hiring at this level look for a portfolio of real work, such as press releases, social content, internal newsletters, or campus media. Internship experience, even unpaid, signals you can operate in a professional communications environment. Tailor your application to show writing ability and familiarity with the organization's industry, and lead with samples rather than credentials alone.
Which companies hire entry level communications managers?

Are there remote entry level communications manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles still make up a meaningful share of openings. About 23% of entry level communications manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who prefer flexibility have real options without limiting themselves to a single metro area.
