Frame your credentials around fintech program complexity
Affirm's Program Directors manage large-scale initiatives spanning engineering, compliance, and risk. Translate your experience into fintech-relevant outcomes, such as launching regulated products or coordinating cross-functional teams in a financial services environment, before you apply.
Target roles aligned with Affirm's product verticals
Affirm organizes program work around lending products, merchant partnerships, and platform infrastructure. Filtering open Program Director postings by these verticals helps you identify where your domain expertise is strongest and where sponsorship need is most active.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
Affirm sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT pathways for this function. Confirm which category applies to your situation before negotiations begin, since TN applicants from Canada or Mexico can start same-day at the border, while H-1B transfers for cap-exempt candidates move faster than new-cap filings.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Program Director openings
Affirm posts Program Director roles across multiple internal teams, and positions open and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to browse current openings filtered specifically for visa-sponsoring employers in financial services so you're applying to live roles.
Prepare for a multi-round program management assessment
Affirm's interview process for Program Directors typically includes a cross-functional scenario exercise. Document two or three examples of programs you've led from scoping through delivery, with measurable business impact, since interviewers probe execution depth, not just process knowledge.
Understand PERM implications if you're targeting a Green Card
If Affirm agrees to support EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, your employer must complete a DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS can adjudicate your immigrant petition. This process typically takes 12 to 18 months before you reach the I-140 stage, so align expectations with your recruiter early.

Find Program Director at Affirm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Program Directors?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Program Director roles. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Affirm can file an H-1B transfer, which allows you to start working as soon as USCIS receives the petition. If you need a new H-1B cap filing, that's subject to the annual lottery, which opens each March for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Program Director jobs at Affirm?
Applications go through Affirm's careers portal. Program Director roles are posted by team or product area, so filtering by function helps you find relevant openings. Tailoring your resume to reflect fintech program delivery, cross-functional coordination, and experience in regulated financial products will align your application with what Affirm's hiring teams are evaluating.
Which visa types does Affirm commonly use for Program Directors?
Affirm sponsors H-1B transfers and new cap filings, F-1 OPT and CPT for eligible students, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term sponsorship. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and timeline. Browsing open roles on Migrate Mate lets you see which Affirm positions are currently active for sponsored candidates.
What qualifications does Affirm expect for Program Director roles?
Affirm's Program Director postings consistently look for experience managing large, cross-functional programs in a technology or financial services environment. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required to support H-1B specialty occupation eligibility, and candidates with PMP certification or prior fintech or payments industry exposure are frequently preferred given the regulatory complexity of Affirm's lending products.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap if I need a new filing?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registrations in March each year for the following October 1 start date. If you're selected in the lottery, Affirm's immigration counsel would prepare and file the full petition between April and June. If you're on F-1 OPT, you may be eligible for a 24-month STEM extension, which gives you additional runway to apply in a subsequent lottery cycle if needed.
