The Role
The Professional Services Director leads the strategy, execution, and performance of Professional Services across Americas East, supporting mid-size and large enterprise customers, Federal, and SLED segments. This role is accountable for delivery outcomes, time-to-value acceleration, and operational rigor within the region, leading an organization that includes Consultants, Service Delivery Managers, and Professional Services Managers. In addition to regional accountability, this Director serves as the global Professional Services leader for the Collaboration Security platform, focused on platform enablement strategy, services standards, and product partnership across all regions. This role does not own delivery execution for customers outside of Americas East. Regional Professional Services leaders retain accountability for delivery performance within their respective geographies.
This Director provides global platform leadership by:
- Defining implementation frameworks and consultative standards for the Collaboration Security platform
- Establishing enablement strategy and capability requirements across the global Professional Services organization
- Supporting delivery execution and advancing Certified Deployment Partner enablement program goals
- Ensuring consistent technical depth and deployment readiness worldwide
- Representing Professional Services in structured partnership with Product Management and Engineering
Principal Consultants specializing in the Collaboration Security portfolio report directly to this Director. These senior technical leaders drive complex implementations within the region and contribute to global architectural standards, thought leadership, and platform expertise. The Director is responsible for their performance, development, and alignment to both regional delivery and global platform objectives.
The Director owns global Professional Services enablement for the Collaboration Security platform — ensuring consultants worldwide are prepared to deploy evolving product capabilities, integrations, and advanced configurations, and collaborating closely with Customer Success, TAM, and Managed Services leaders responsible for adoption and operational success. Additionally, the Director oversees resources supporting implementation and consultative services engagements for the Data Security and Governance (DSG) program, partnering closely with the peer Director leading US West to ensure consistency across the Americas.
As the executive escalation point for Americas East and a visible global platform authority, the Director builds credibility with CISOs, CIOs, and senior security leaders. This role actively influences product roadmap direction by translating field insights, implementation friction, and customer requirements into structured feedback for Product Management and Engineering. The Director establishes disciplined operating mechanisms across both regional execution and global platform alignment, including KPI dashboards, forecasting accuracy, capacity modeling, standardized methodologies, and formalized product feedback loops.

- Partner with CSM, TAM, and Managed Services leadership to ensure disciplined transition from implementation to adoption.
- Drive disciplined forecasting, utilization management, and capacity planning within Americas East.
- Oversee Professional Services efforts to minimize customer churn within Americas East (proactively, through strong implementation delivery, and reactively, in PS’ part of get-well plans for at-risk customers).
- Serve as executive escalation lead for high-impact regional engagements.
What you bring to the team

Frame your PMP or CSM credentials strategically
Proofpoint's Program Director roles sit at the intersection of cybersecurity product delivery and enterprise compliance. Certifications like PMP or CSM signal program governance fluency, which strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation case when your employer files your petition.
Target Proofpoint's enterprise security product lines
Program Director openings at Proofpoint cluster around email security, threat intelligence, and compliance platforms. Tailoring your application to a specific product line, rather than applying broadly, shows operational context and accelerates the hiring manager's interest in sponsoring.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before your final interview round
Some Proofpoint Program Director roles explicitly list sponsorship availability and others do not. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific requisition supports H-1B or TN sponsorship before you invest in late-stage interviews, not after an offer is extended.
Understand how TN status fits program management
If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, TN status can cover Program Director roles classified under management consultant categories. DOL's USMCA qualifying occupation list defines eligibility, so verify your job description aligns before assuming TN is available.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Proofpoint openings by visa type
Proofpoint posts Program Director roles across multiple business units at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings filtered by the visa types Proofpoint sponsors, so you apply to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than assumed.

Find Program Director at Proofpoint JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Proofpoint sponsor H-1B visas for Program Directors?
Yes, Proofpoint sponsors H-1B visas for Program Director roles. The company operates as a technology employer in the cybersecurity software space, and Program Directors typically qualify as specialty occupation workers given the degree requirements attached to these positions. Sponsorship availability can vary by specific requisition, so confirm directly with your recruiter during the hiring process.
How do I apply for Program Director jobs at Proofpoint?
You can apply through Proofpoint's careers page or find open roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Program Director positions at Proofpoint often require experience in enterprise software program governance, so tailoring your resume to reflect cross-functional delivery in a SaaS or cybersecurity environment will strengthen your application before you submit.
Which visa types does Proofpoint commonly sponsor for Program Directors?
Proofpoint sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization pathway for Program Directors. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT holders in program management roles, and TN status is available for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals. For longer-term sponsorship, Proofpoint has demonstrated willingness to support EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for this function.
What qualifications does Proofpoint expect for Program Director roles?
Proofpoint's Program Director roles generally require a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, with significant experience managing complex, cross-functional programs in enterprise software or cybersecurity environments. Program governance certifications and familiarity with Proofpoint's product areas, such as email security or compliance platforms, are commonly referenced in job descriptions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Proofpoint Program Director offer?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes three to six months, while premium processing reduces adjudication to roughly 15 business days. If you need PERM labor certification for a Green Card, plan for one to two years before the I-140 immigrant petition stage. Aligning your employment start date with these windows early in the offer negotiation prevents unnecessary delays.
