Frame your credentials around client outcomes
Slalom Program Directors are expected to own client relationships and delivery accountability from day one. When documenting your experience, emphasize programs you've led end-to-end, not just workstreams you contributed to. That distinction shapes how your petition is framed.
Target Slalom's vertical-aligned hiring teams
Slalom hires Program Directors against specific market verticals and local offices, not a central pool. Research which verticals are actively growing in your target city before applying, so your background maps directly to an open demand rather than a speculative pipeline.
Clarify sponsorship type before your first interview
Slalom sponsors both temporary work visas and Green Card pathways, but the timeline differs significantly by visa type. Ask your recruiter early whether the role supports the specific visa you need, so there are no surprises after an offer is extended.
Understand how PERM timing affects senior offers
If your path requires PERM-based sponsorship, the DOL's labor market test adds months before an I-140 petition can be filed. For a Program Director role with active client commitments, discuss how your start date and sponsorship timeline align before signing an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Slalom openings by visa type
Program Director postings at Slalom are distributed across markets and change frequently. Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings already filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you're applying to roles where your specific visa category is supported.
Prepare for a multi-stage evaluation process
Slalom's Program Director interviews typically involve case-style discussions and stakeholder scenarios alongside culture assessments. Strong candidates align their sponsorship conversation with demonstrated delivery credibility, not as a standalone ask, which makes the visa discussion feel lower-risk for the hiring team.

Find Program Director at Slalom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Slalom sponsor H-1B visas for Program Directors?
Yes, Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for Program Directors. The company has an established sponsorship process for this role category within its consulting delivery teams. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the annual USCIS lottery, timing your offer and start date around the April filing window matters. Cap-exempt scenarios, such as candidates already holding H-1B status with a different employer, allow for faster transfers outside that cycle.
How do I apply for Program Director jobs at Slalom?
You can apply directly through Slalom's careers site or find open Program Director roles filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. Slalom hires against specific market offices and verticals, so searching by location and practice area improves your targeting. Tailor your application to reflect end-to-end program ownership and client relationship management, which are the core competencies Slalom evaluates at this level.
Which visa types does Slalom commonly sponsor for Program Director roles?
Slalom sponsors a range of visa types for Program Directors, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT for recent graduates transitioning into full-time roles. For candidates seeking permanent residence, Slalom supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The appropriate visa type depends on your citizenship, current status, and the nature of the role.
What qualifications and experience does Slalom expect for Program Directors?
Slalom typically expects Program Directors to have significant experience leading large, cross-functional consulting engagements with direct client accountability. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is generally required, with many candidates holding advanced degrees in business, technology, or a related discipline. Beyond credentials, Slalom places weight on your ability to manage delivery risk, grow client relationships, and lead distributed teams across complex programs.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing sponsorship for a Program Director role at Slalom?
The timeline depends heavily on your visa type. H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start, so an offer needs to be in place before late March. E-3 and TN visas move faster and can be processed at a consulate in weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship adds a DOL labor market test before USCIS adjudication, which typically adds several months to the overall process.
