Frame Your Degree Against Specialty Occupation Standards
Slalom Project Consultant roles require demonstrating a direct connection between your degree field and the technical or strategic work you'll perform. Document that link explicitly in your resume before applying, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation eligibility for consulting roles.
Target Slalom Offices in High-Demand Markets
Slalom staffs Project Consultants locally, so offices in markets like Seattle, Chicago, and Atlanta carry larger client books and more active headcount needs. Applying to a specific market rather than a general listing strengthens your candidacy and speeds recruiter response.
Understand How Client Billing Affects Your Petition
Consulting firms file H-1B petitions tied to the employer of record, but your day-to-day work happens at client sites. Confirm with your Slalom recruiter early that the I-129 will reflect the correct worksite locations, since multi-site consulting arrangements require additional DOL compliance steps.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Project Consultant Openings
Slalom posts Project Consultant roles across multiple markets at varying seniority levels. Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified sponsorship-eligible openings at Slalom so you're applying to roles where the hiring team has already committed to supporting a visa filing.
Clarify E-3 Eligibility Before Accepting an Offer
Australian citizens can use the E-3 visa for Slalom Project Consultant roles without entering the H-1B lottery. The employer still files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, but processing is faster. Raise this with your recruiter before the offer letter is drafted to avoid delays.

Find Project Consultant at Slalom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Slalom sponsor H-1B visas for Project Consultants?
Yes, Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for Project Consultant roles. As a professional services firm, Slalom regularly files H-1B petitions for this function, treating consulting positions as specialty occupations requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Your degree discipline should connect directly to the project type, whether that's technology implementation, business strategy, or data analytics.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Consultant roles at Slalom?
Slalom supports several visa categories for Project Consultants. H-1B is the most common for non-lottery-exempt candidates. Australian citizens can use the E-3 visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. F-1 students may start on OPT or CPT during school. TN status covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible occupations, and Slalom also supports employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employees.
How do I apply for Project Consultant jobs at Slalom?
Applications go through Slalom's careers site, where roles are listed by market and service line. The process typically includes an initial recruiter screen, a case or competency interview, and a final round with a hiring manager or senior consultant. Sponsorship eligibility is usually discussed during the recruiter screen, so raise your visa situation early rather than waiting until an offer is in progress. Migrate Mate also lists active Slalom Project Consultant openings filtered for sponsorship-eligible candidates.
What qualifications does Slalom expect for Project Consultant roles?
Slalom typically hires Project Consultants with a bachelor's degree in a field tied to a specific service line, such as computer science, information systems, engineering, finance, or business analytics. Prior internship or client-facing experience matters more than GPA. Many candidates come from consulting programs, big-four firms, or technology implementations. Demonstrating ownership of a project outcome, not just participation, distinguishes strong applicants in the interview process.
How do I think about timing when Slalom is sponsoring my visa?
H-1B petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so an offer accepted in January or February fits that window cleanly. If you're on OPT, confirm your expiration date against that timeline. E-3 petitions process faster, often within a few weeks of LCA certification by the DOL. For any pathway, ask your Slalom recruiter to connect you with their immigration counsel early so document collection doesn't delay the filing.
