Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Business Consultant Jobs at Slalom Jobs
Frame your degree around consulting specializations
Slalom's Business Consultant roles are filed as specialty occupations, so your degree field needs to align directly with the practice area you're targeting, whether that's technology, finance, or operations. A general business degree paired with an unrelated role can create complications during H-1B adjudication.
Target Slalom's market-specific hiring pipeline
Slalom staffs by local market, not centrally. Applying to markets where Slalom has established client relationships in your industry vertical improves your odds of reaching a billable role, which is what drives headcount approvals and ultimately triggers sponsorship decisions.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before your first round
Slalom sponsors multiple visa types including H-1B, E-3, and TN, but availability can depend on the specific practice and market. Raise your visa status directly when you reach the recruiter screen so both sides avoid wasted rounds if a particular office can't support your category.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Business Consultant roles
Slalom posts Business Consultant openings across dozens of markets simultaneously, making it hard to identify which offices are actively hiring. Migrate Mate lets you filter Slalom's listings by visa sponsorship type so you can focus on roles where your status is already supported.
Understand how PERM affects your consulting career timeline
If you're targeting a Green Card through Slalom's EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, consulting work often involves project rotations that must still align with the role description filed in your PERM application. Changing practice areas during the process can require DOL to restart the labor certification.
Time your offer to account for H-1B cap and consular processing
If you're outside the U.S. or cap-eligible, Slalom needs to file your H-1B petition in April for an October 1 start. Build that constraint into your offer negotiation so your projected start date and project placement align with what USCIS can realistically process.

Find Business Consultant at Slalom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Slalom sponsor H-1B visas for Business Consultants?
Yes, Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for Business Consultant roles. Because consulting positions are classified as specialty occupations requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher, they generally meet USCIS's threshold for H-1B eligibility. Sponsorship availability can vary by market and practice area, so confirm directly with your recruiter which office is handling the role you're applying for.
How do I apply for Business Consultant jobs at Slalom?
Slalom posts Business Consultant openings on its careers site organized by market and practice area. The process typically moves through an initial recruiter screen, one or more case or behavioral interviews, and a final panel round. You can also browse verified sponsorship-active listings at Migrate Mate, which filters Slalom's open Business Consultant roles by visa type to match your immigration status.
Which visa types does Slalom commonly use for Business Consultant roles?
Slalom sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for Business Consultant positions. E-3 is available only to Australian citizens. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates before transitioning to a longer-term sponsored status.
What qualifications does Slalom expect for Business Consultant roles?
Slalom typically looks for a bachelor's degree in a field directly relevant to the consulting practice you're joining, such as business, computer science, engineering, or finance. Client-facing experience, comfort with ambiguous problem scopes, and industry domain knowledge matter significantly. For visa purposes, the degree field must align with the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies to the specific role title and responsibilities.
How do I handle timing if my OPT is running out while interviewing at Slalom?
If your F-1 OPT expiration is approaching, flag your timeline to the recruiter early. Slalom can file an H-1B petition on your behalf, but if you're cap-eligible, the April lottery window and October 1 start date are fixed by USCIS. A 60-day grace period applies after OPT ends, but it cannot be used for unauthorized work. Planning your interview timeline around the H-1B cap cycle is the most reliable way to avoid a gap in work authorization.
