Frame Your Degree Around Client Delivery
Slalom's consulting roles are specialty occupation filings, so your degree needs to connect directly to the work. A business, engineering, or computer science degree paired with documented client-facing project experience strengthens your H-1B or E-3 petition considerably.
Target Slalom's Industry Vertical Openings
Slalom structures its consulting practice by industry verticals like financial services, healthcare, and technology. Applying to a role aligned with your sector background signals fit faster and puts you in front of hiring managers who understand domain-specific visa sponsorship needs.
Ask About Sponsorship Scope During Screening
Slalom sponsors multiple visa categories, including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Confirm early in recruiter conversations which pathway applies to your situation, since the filing timeline and employer cost obligations differ across categories and affect how quickly an offer can move forward.
Align Your Start Date to OPT Cap-Gap Rules
If you're on F-1 OPT and waiting on H-1B selection, cap-gap protection extends your work authorization through September 30 if your OPT expires during that window. Slalom's recruiting team needs to know your OPT end date early so they can plan the I-129 filing timeline correctly.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Slalom Openings
Slalom posts Professional Services Consultant roles across multiple markets simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Slalom positions open to visa sponsorship so you're not manually sorting through listings that don't match your authorization needs.
Prepare for PERM If You're Thinking Long Term
Slalom supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for consultants in ongoing roles. The DOL's PERM labor certification process requires documented recruitment efforts, so discuss permanent residency intent with your manager and HR contact before you hit the six-year H-1B limit.

Find Professional Services Consultant at Slalom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Slalom sponsor H-1B visas for Professional Services Consultants?
Yes, Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for Professional Services Consultants. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or information systems. Slalom has sponsored H-1B petitions consistently for this function across multiple U.S. markets, and the company works with immigration counsel to manage the annual USCIS filing process.
How do I apply for Professional Services Consultant jobs at Slalom?
You can browse and apply for Professional Services Consultant roles at Slalom through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions open to visa sponsorship. Slalom's application process typically involves an initial recruiter screen, a case study or behavioral interview, and a final panel discussion. Mentioning your visa status and timeline early helps recruiters plan the sponsorship process alongside your offer.
Which visa types does Slalom commonly sponsor for Professional Services Consultants?
Slalom sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas for Professional Services Consultants, along with TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, and offers EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for consultants in longer-term positions who meet DOL PERM labor certification requirements.
What qualifications does Slalom expect for Professional Services Consultant roles?
Slalom typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field, combined with demonstrable client engagement experience. For mid-level and senior roles, direct project delivery experience within an industry vertical carries significant weight. Because these roles are filed as specialty occupations with USCIS, your degree field needs to connect logically to the specific consulting work described in the job posting.
How do I plan the visa sponsorship timeline for a Slalom offer?
The timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B petitions are subject to the annual USCIS lottery with an April 1 filing window, so offers made in late fall or winter often have a October 1 start date built in. E-3 and TN filings move faster and can often be processed within weeks of an offer. Raising your visa status and any pending deadlines during the offer stage gives Slalom's HR and immigration team enough runway to file without delays.
