THE ROLE
Join a high-autonomy team dedicated to solving the most complex commercial challenges in Life Sciences. As a Data Scientist in our Business Consulting group, you will transform raw data into strategic insights that help our customers deliver life-saving medicines to patients faster and more efficiently. You will bridge the gap between sophisticated mathematical modeling and real-world business impact, ensuring every solution we build is scalable, accurate, and meaningful.
- Solve Real-World Challenges: Use your technical expertise on 4–12 week analytics engagements that directly impact Brand Strategy, Patient Analytics, and Sales Operations for global pharmaceutical leaders
- Translate Data to Value: Transform complex commercial events—such as pharmacy claims and prescriber trends—into clear, actionable narratives that help customers improve patient access to therapy
- Architect Scalable Solutions: Design and implement structured data models and reusable code patterns that ensure our insights are consistent, reliable, and platform-ready
- Consult with Purpose: Partner closely with business leaders to navigate ambiguous requirements, ensuring our technical execution is always grounded in the customer's "bottom line" goals
- Drive Team Velocity: Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and standardize data processing to accelerate the delivery of high-signal insights to the market
REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in a STEM field plus 1+ years of experience in a Data Science role. Alternatively, a Masters degree in a STEM field plus 3 years experience
- Data Intuition & Real-World Mapping: Exceptional ability to understand how raw data connects to real-world events. You must be able to strategically clean and structure complex datasets to preserve the "business signal" for analysis
- Mathematical Foundation: A strong intuition for grounding problem-solving in mathematical principles and a deep curiosity for the "why" behind data trends
- Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL with the ability to independently develop and troubleshoot data processing pipelines
- Industry Context: Experience in the Life Sciences industry is essential, with a focus on understanding the commercial landscape (Patient, Brand, or Sales Operations)
- Communication with Impact: The ability to distill complex technical findings into strategic stories that drive decision-making for non-technical business leaders
- Analytical Problem-Solving: A proven track record of defining a clear technical blueprint and business objective before initiating execution
NICE TO HAVE
- Consulting Experience: Previous experience in a client-facing role, managing project timelines and stakeholder expectations
- Workflow Orchestration: Familiarity with Airflow or similar tools for automating and scheduling data workflows

Frame your credentials around life sciences implementations
Veeva hires Professional Services Consultants who can speak to CRM, Vault, or regulated data workflows in pharma or biotech. Before applying, reframe your resume around specific implementation projects, not general consulting experience, so your background maps directly to their product lines.
Target open roles aligned with your specialty
Veeva's Professional Services team is organized by product suite and industry vertical. Identify whether your background fits Vault Clinical, Commercial, or Quality before applying. Applying to a role that matches your domain gives you a stronger case when the H-1B specialty occupation requirement comes up.
Confirm your OPT timeline before your final interview round
If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your remaining work authorization window against Veeva's typical onboarding timeline. If fewer than six months remain, raise this early so the team can coordinate with their immigration counsel before an offer is extended.
Understand how your role supports the H-1B specialty occupation standard
For USCIS to approve an H-1B for a Professional Services Consultant role, the position must require a specific bachelor's degree. Make sure your offer letter and job description reflect specialized duties tied to a defined field, not general project management or account coordination.
Use Migrate Mate to identify and track open roles efficiently
Veeva's Professional Services openings are distributed across regions and product lines and can be easy to miss. Migrate Mate filters Veeva's active listings by role type and visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can focus your applications on positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Ask about the LCA filing during the offer negotiation stage
Veeva files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. Confirm with the recruiting team which worksite location will be listed, especially if your role is remote or involves client travel, since the LCA must reflect your primary work location.

Find Professional Services Consultant at Veeva Systems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Veeva Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Professional Services Consultants?
Yes, Veeva Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Professional Services Consultant roles. The position qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a specific degree in fields like life sciences, computer science, or a related discipline. Veeva works with immigration counsel to handle the H-1B petition process, including the required Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL before submission to USCIS.
Which visa types does Veeva Systems commonly use for Professional Services Consultant roles?
Veeva sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for ongoing employment, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates still in their academic authorization period. TN visa sponsorship is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Candidates pursuing a permanent path can be considered for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship after establishing a track record in the role.
What qualifications does Veeva Systems expect for Professional Services Consultant roles?
Veeva typically looks for a bachelor's degree in life sciences, computer science, engineering, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience implementing enterprise software in regulated industries like pharma or biotech. Familiarity with Veeva's product suite, including Vault or Veeva CRM, is a strong differentiator. Client-facing project delivery experience in a consulting or implementation context is generally expected.
How do I apply for Professional Services Consultant jobs at Veeva Systems?
Applications go through Veeva's careers portal, where roles are listed by product line and region. Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point to browse Veeva's Professional Services Consultant openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. When you apply directly, tailor your resume to highlight implementation experience with life sciences software and any domain expertise in clinical, commercial, or quality functions, since Veeva organizes its services team around these verticals.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship to join Veeva Systems?
If you need a new H-1B, the cap-subject lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, so your offer and registration must align with that window. USCIS processes standard H-1B petitions in three to six months after selection. If you're currently on OPT, a timely Cap-Gap extension can bridge any gap between your OPT expiration and your H-1B start date, so confirm your exact expiration date before negotiating a start date with Veeva.
