Frame your credentials around consulting outcomes
Slalom evaluates Strategic Business Development candidates on pipeline impact and client relationship depth. Before applying, document specific revenue milestones, named accounts won, and partnership expansions you drove so interviewers can connect your background to their consulting growth model.
Target Slalom's industry vertical hiring cycles
Slalom structures business development hiring around vertical markets like technology, healthcare, and financial services. Research which vertical aligns with your domain expertise and apply directly to those postings, since hiring managers within verticals own their own headcount and sponsorship decisions.
Confirm visa type eligibility before your first interview
Slalom sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Know which category applies to your citizenship before screening calls begin, so you can address sponsorship questions accurately and avoid delays caused by mismatched expectations late in the process.
Understand the LCA requirement for offer timing
Before Slalom can file your H-1B or E-3 petition, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance. Factor in the LCA certification window when negotiating your start date so neither side is caught off guard.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles efficiently
Strategic Business Development openings at Slalom appear across multiple locations and verticals simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track these postings by visa type so you spend time on roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than manually screening each listing.
Prepare documentation of specialty occupation status early
USCIS requires that H-1B roles qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. For business development roles in consulting, gather degree certificates and role descriptions that clearly link your academic background to the technical or analytical nature of the position.

Find Strategic Business Development at Slalom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Slalom sponsor H-1B visas for Strategic Business Developments?
Yes, Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for Strategic Business Development roles. Sponsorship is handled through Slalom's internal immigration team, which works with candidates after an offer is extended. Because H-1B cap-subject filings are tied to the annual lottery in April, your offer timing relative to the USCIS registration window directly affects when you can begin work under H-1B status.
How do I apply for Strategic Business Development jobs at Slalom?
You can apply through Slalom's careers page or find open Strategic Business Development roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Slalom's hiring process for this function typically involves a recruiter screen, a behavioral round focused on business development experience, and a final panel with practice leaders. Confirming your visa situation early in the process prevents delays once an offer is made.
Which visa types does Slalom commonly use for Strategic Business Development roles?
Slalom sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Strategic Business Development positions, along with immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. Australian citizens are well positioned to pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable status. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status, which can often be secured at the border without a USCIS petition.
What qualifications does Slalom expect for Strategic Business Development roles?
Slalom typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, marketing, or a technical discipline, combined with demonstrated experience building client relationships in a consulting or professional services environment. At the senior level, a track record of owning enterprise accounts or driving partner ecosystems carries significant weight. USCIS also requires that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, so your degree field should align with your business development responsibilities.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from Slalom?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 and TN sponsorships can often be completed within a few weeks since they don't require USCIS petition approval in most cases. H-1B petitions filed under standard processing take three to five months for USCIS adjudication, though premium processing can reduce that to roughly two to three weeks. For F-1 OPT candidates, your Employment Authorization Document must already be approved before your start date.
