Frame your credentials around hospitality program scope
Hilton's Program Director roles typically require demonstrated oversight of multi-property or large-scale hospitality programs. When preparing your resume and portfolio, quantify your program budgets, cross-functional team size, and property count to match the scale Hilton operates at.
Target Hilton's convention and resort properties first
Large convention hotels and full-service resort properties within Hilton's portfolio generate the most Program Director openings. Filtering your search by these property types surfaces roles where sponsorship has historically been part of the hiring conversation.
Understand H-2B limitations before applying
H-2B visas are temporary and tied to seasonal or peak-period demand, which may affect how Hilton structures your offer. Clarify with your recruiter whether the role is full-year or project-based before accepting, since H-2B status cannot be extended indefinitely.
Confirm sponsorship intent during the interview stage
Hilton's talent acquisition teams have authority to initiate visa sponsorship, but approval flows through corporate HR. Ask directly whether the specific property or business unit has budget approved for sponsorship before you reach the offer stage to avoid late-stage surprises.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Program Director roles at Hilton
Hilton posts Program Director openings across multiple property brands, which makes tracking them manually inefficient. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Hilton Program Director roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're only spending time on positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Align your start date with DOL filing windows
For H-2B roles, your employer must file a temporary labor certification with DOL before petitioning USCIS, and filing deadlines are tied to your proposed start date. Negotiate your intended start date with Hilton's HR team early so there's enough runway to meet DOL's requirements without delaying your onboarding.

Find Program Director at Hilton JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hilton sponsor H-1B visas for Program Directors?
Hilton's primary sponsorship vehicle for Program Director roles has been the H-2B visa, which covers temporary non-agricultural workers in hospitality settings. H-1B sponsorship is possible for Program Directors whose role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field, but it is less common for this function and depends on the role's scope and the specific property's HR structure.
Which visa types are commonly used for Program Director roles at Hilton?
H-2B is the most frequently used visa category for Program Director positions at Hilton, particularly for roles tied to seasonal operations or event-driven demand at convention and resort properties. Candidates with specialized credentials may be evaluated for H-1B if the role meets specialty occupation standards. Your visa type will depend on the nature of the position, the property, and Hilton's HR assessment.
How do I apply for Program Director jobs at Hilton?
You can apply directly through Hilton's careers portal, filtering by job function and location. To focus exclusively on roles where visa sponsorship is available, use Migrate Mate to browse current Program Director openings at Hilton that are flagged for sponsorship. Tailor your application to the specific property type, since resort, convention, and corporate properties each have distinct program management priorities.
What qualifications does Hilton expect for Program Director candidates?
Hilton generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field, combined with several years of program or event management experience in full-service hotel or resort environments. Familiarity with large-scale group business, cross-departmental coordination, and property management systems used across Hilton's brands strengthens your application significantly.
How do I plan my timeline if Hilton is sponsoring my H-2B visa?
H-2B sponsorship requires Hilton to file a temporary labor certification with the DOL before submitting a petition to USCIS, so the process begins well before your target start date. The full timeline from DOL filing to USCIS approval can take several months. Coordinate with Hilton's HR team early to confirm your proposed start date aligns with filing deadlines and does not conflict with the H-2B annual cap.
